According to the Waste Act, a producer is a natural person or legal entity authorized to do business, who, regardless of the method of sale (including the use of remote communication means):
- produces and sells electrical equipment under their own brand, or
- sells electrical equipment produced by other suppliers under their own brand, provided the brand of an entity pursuant to point 1 does not appear on the equipment, or
- imports electrical equipment to the Czech Republic or puts it on the market in the Czech Republic under the framework of their business activities
Simply put, the term “producer” encompasses both producers and importers of lighting equipment who are the first to sell these products in the Czech Republic.
