Lamps are gathered at collection points in special containers. Once a container is full, it is transported to a consolidation point. Containers are then transported from consolidation points to processors in larger quantities.
A total of 2,060 containers with lamps were transported for processing in 2007.
Luminaires are gathered and transported primarily on palettes. They are transported from collection points to consolidation points, from where they transported in larger quantities for processing.
At present, three companies secure transport of used lamps and luminaires for Ekolamp. Service for the Czech Republic is broken down into wider units (regions) according to regional borders. One regional transporter was selected for each region. These transporters take care of transporting used lamps from contracting collection points to consolidation points, and from there to processors.
